Joey Is TWO!

This sweet little guy turned two today!

We can't believe it. David and I were very happy after we got married, but our happiness has increased exponentially since Joey came into our lives. We wanted to document his birthday this year by asking him a bunch of questions and recording his answers. That didn't go so well (he mostly repeated the questions back to us) so we did our best to answer some of the questions for him.

Joseph David Jenks

Age 2
Nicknames Joey, Bear, Bub, Dodi, Bugaboo, Stink
Favorite Animal Horses. We go on a walks all the time to see the horses near granny's house.
Favorite Book Trucks. He carries this book with him everywhere. He'd probably take it in the bath if we'd let him.
Favorite Movie This is definitely a toss up between Cars and The Lorax. Amanda has both of these movies memorized.
Favorite Songs Happy by Pharrell Williams (no, not kidding), Daddy's Homecoming (a primary song), and Popcorn Popping.
Favorite Food Chicken nuggets, but not the ones shaped like dinosaurs. Recently Granny took him to Wendy's and he ate 9 nuggets. NINE WHOLE NUGGETS!
Favorite Toy Playdough
Best Friend Parker Orgill. We went to play with Parker the other day and he told me he was "So excited!!"

Things Joey Does/Says that We Love!

When he is really happy, he lets us know by yelling "HAPPY!!!".

If Joey likes something he is eating or drinking he says "like it", but he most frequently does this when he is drinking water, "Water, like it".

If you ever ask him what he's doing he always says "workin'",  no matter what it is he's doing.

If you ask Joey a question that he doesn't know the answer to he'll say, "I no know either".

He points at everything, and boy do we mean everything, and asks "waszzzz that?" or "wasssssss this?".

"Raise the ROOF!"

Joey is a very helpful cleaner. He especially loves to vacuum with his toy Dirt Devil, help empty the dish washer, and start the dishwasher when it's ready to run.

He scrubs his own belly at bath time with a little white loofa that he loves.

When Joey wants to do something on his own he says, "self" (and he likes to do a lot of things by himself).

He likes to sing,"Cleanup, errry-body share!" when we pick up toys together.

What Joey Got for His Birthday This Year: a T-Ball Set, a Tricycle (from Grandpa and Granny V.), a Mater toy, a puzzle, sidewalk chalk, a talking remote control airplane (from Papa and Grandma J.), and some other fun things!

What We Did for Joey's Birthday This Year: We celebrated Joey's birthday on Saturday, May 3rd. We had a special breakfast (a Jenks family tradition) with balloons tied on the birthday boy's chair. Joey got to open one present after breakfast. The rest of the day was really normal, and then we had a special dinner of nuggets and mac n' cheese (which Joey LOVED). After dinner we let him open all of his presents and then we went outside to play with his new trike, chalk, and t-ball set. Before bed we had funfetti cupcakes and ice cream. Joey just ate the frosting-- no surprise there! It was a very simple and enjoyable birthday, minus a major homemade cupcake mishap that made Amanda want to rip her hair out. But, thanks to The Sweet Tooth Fairy and one really nice Granny, even that little problem got fixed. We are glad we got to spend such a fun day with one very special little dude.
